ILLUMINATE 28 Silver
Illuminate 28 Silver provides the high strength and transparency of Illuminate 28, with a metallic silver colored coating on the reinforcing fiberglass. The silver pigment (or any other color) added to the PTFE coating does reduce light transmission, yet it still allows more light through than traditional, unpigmented SHEERFILL membranes. Adding color to traditional SHEERFILL membranes reduces light transmission to zero.

ILLUMINATE 48
Illuminate 48 offers significantly higher light transmission than traditional SHEERFILL membranes, and even higher than Illuminate 28. With a fiberglass reinforcement and light transmission of over 50%, Illuminate 48 creates options for design and implementation of tensile structures not possible in the past.
Illuminate High Light Transmission Membranes enable the construction of roofs or facades that provide high light transmission while protecting the interior of the building and its occupants. For designs where one size does not fit all, the use of multiple types of SHEERFILL materials can provide different levels of light transmission and shading in different areas of the same structure – Illuminate where visibility and light are desired, and traditional SHEERFILL where more solar reflectance is desired, all while still letting in diffuse natural daylight. Illuminate and SHEERFILL materials are available with different light transmissions, and can be colored to provide a customized visual appearance.
Illuminate High Light Transmission Membranes are composed of two long-lasting and proven materials – fiberglass and PTFE (TEFLON®). The PTFE-laminated fiberglass composite is unaffected by UV and provides long term durability against weather. The high tensile strength and tear resistance of the reinforcing woven fiberglass mesh ensure long-term reliability in structures of all shapes and sizes.
Illuminate High Light Transmission Membranes are translucent, noncombustible materials. As with all SHEERFILL products, fire safety is unsurpassed. Illuminate conforms to the most stringent building codes around the world, and is rated as Class A in the US. Unlike some other materials that use additives to improve fire safety ratings, SHEERFILL materials, made with fiberglass and PTFE (TEFLON®), are permanently non-combustible, as the materials used to manufacture them are inherently non-combustible.
The visual appeal of Illuminate High Light Transmission Membranes is unaffected by age, climate, pollutants or discoloration. The PTFE (TEFLON®) surface makes Illuminate highly resistant to staining. Illuminate is impervious to airborne particulates and chemicals that attack and deteriorate other materials. The natural action of rain keeps the material clean and bright.
Illuminate High Light Transmission Membranes allow natural daylight into spaces within, while protecting occupants from the elements without. This natural daylight, combined with the ability to see through the material, enhances the comfort and well-being of those protected by it, and allows for a connection to the world outside.
Illuminate High Light Transmission Membranes are a new class of permanent architectural membranes. Illuminate enables the use of many traditional tensile architecture features – long free spans with lightweight construction, nearly limitless design freedom, low maintenance and long-life. Other higher light transmission options often require more structure and weight, maintenance and cleaning, and limited design freedom.
