"People often forget that our architectural membrane products work in a building made with conventional building materials." This is a statement from Marcel Dery, Market Manager - Architectural.
A perfect example is the new Xi'an International Conference Center in China. Although built of conventional materials, it incorporates two products from the architectural membrane group. Over 2,000m2 of SHEERFILL® Fabrasorb IA Acoustical Membrane. This material helps to define the entrance area and serves to reduce noise in the space.
The area under the eaves of the entrance received over 6,300m2 of SGM in a silver color. This is a mesh product that allows air to pass through to keep the area dry. Further it helps delineate the overhanging roof.
"This is a great example of membrane materials being incorporated into a conventional building. The materials blend in perfectly and perform the desired function.'
Fabrasorb and SGM are produced by Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics in the Merrimack, NH plant.
