On Friday, April 24th, the official opening of Techstyle Haus took place at Domaine de Boisbuchet in Lessac, France. Techstyle Haus was originally created by students of Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt for the 2014 Solar Decathalon Europe.
These students teamed up with members of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics to design and build the structure for an 800 square foot house that is completely powered by the sun. The structure is made with Saint-Gobain's own SHEERFILL®II material with an EverClean®Photocatalytic Topcoat. The structure was disassembled after Solar Decathalon, but now the final installation has been completed and Techstyle Haus stands permanently in France as a source of pride for all who were involved.
